Dr. Emily Spencer
Dr. Spencer is a native to East Texas where she was born and raised with her 9 siblings and had the privilege of being homeschooled through high school by her mother. Being homeschooled and growing up with room to roam outside allowed Dr. Spencer to pursue her love of animals and the outdoors.
She had an interest in veterinary medicine at an early age. That interest was pursued by participating in a 4H Certified Vet Assistant program throughout high school. This program required hundreds of hours of volunteer hours shadowing which she fulfilled at veterinary clinics in the east Texas area, the majority of that time being spent at McClendon Vet Services. This solidified her passion for pursuing veterinary medicine as a life career. She attended ETBU from 2010-2014 and received a Bachelors of Science in Biology. From there she and her husband moved to College Station, TX where she attended Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine from 2014-2018. Upon graduation Dr. Spencer returned to her East Texas home to begin work at McClendon Veterinary Services caring for companions both large and small.
At home, she cares for 2 horses, a black lab, and 2 cats. Dr. Spencer’s free time is drawn to multiple interests such as knitting, macrame, and reading when not exercising or spending time with her husband, two-year old son and large extended family.
